Victory never tasted so sweet from overseas!! I was all set to watch the game with all the essential tailgating snacks. I bought chicken wings (never again in Germany will I buy those... not delicious, and smothered in some strange sauce attempting to be barbaque?), dips, chips, salsa, and celery sticks. I called Luke to come over a share in the excitement, and broght over some German beer. So we were all set. Until CBS Sports denied us football game watching privledges because we were not in the United States. Typically you can pay nominal fee to watch the game. But CBS was showing the UGA-GT game for free! But the catch was you had to be watching the free TV broadcast from a computer in the U.S.
I remained calm while missing the first half. Luke tried to engineer a way around the system, until we were at a dead end. I called my family over Skype to get a score update, and they were willing to try and solve the problem of me not being able to watch the game!
So I ended up watching the game with my family (which was amazing) over Skype! Dad engineered the webcam to be propped up in front of the downstairs TV, and played with the settings so that you could just make out everything that was happening - but still fuzzy enough you weren't always sure what exactly happened. So Mom, Dad, and Trey gave live commentary in addition to the TV announcers. It felt just like college game day Saturday at home!
I had bought a small splint of Champagne at the grocery store because I had a good feeling about the game. and with tears in my eyes, Luke and I toasted a small glass at the end to celebrate.
So What's the Good Word??
